Regarding the unclaimed and sock stakes NEM's Development Contract says:

In order to reassure the community that the development team does not have unbound control over the direction and use of these funds, it is hereby declared that these funds shall be reclassified and shall be lumped into a fund defined as the Sustainability Fund. This fund will not be operational, until late redeem/reclaim procedure is finished.

The Sustainability Fund will be divided into sub funds with cosignatories being members of the development team and/or its trustees and/or selected community members.

The number of sock puppets being removed has not been finalized and could change before or after the launch of NEM due to the appeal process. Furthermore, any unclaimed stakes shall be added to the Sustainability Fund at the end of the extended redemption period. Upon completion of both sock stake appeals and extended redemption deadline, this number will be finalised.

We finally finished the process and split the Sustainability Fund into its sub funds according to the numbers in the Development Contract and are now publishing these information to ensure transparency. We are sorry for the delay, a lot was going on and we had to postpone this process several times because of other priorities.

We sent out NEM stakes to 145 late redeemers and 48 cleared sock cases between 27/04/2015 and 22/07/2015. This leads to 2,354,280,307 XEM which were finally left in the Sustainability Fund.

[08/27/2016 Editor update: Latest Figures show that there were 149 late redemption and 51 sock cases approved. 14 NEMStakes were scammed out of NEM during the exercise when NEMStakes were released into the AE. After going through the list, there were 2844 stakes allocated instead of 2845 stakes as published earlier. This was due to errors in the compilation of the figures and names. 3 participants were banned from participating due to various reasons. Lastly, one more participant decided not to take up the NEMStake, thereby leaving the final stakes to be 2840 at launch.

As a final note, 494.50 and 572 NEMStakes are the final unclaimed and sock figures respectively.]

With that amount and according to table 4 in the Development Contract, the breakdown of the Sustainability Sub Funds is as follows:

Fund Balance
NIS Node Rewards 211,885,227.63 XEM
Silver Coins for Distribution to Stakeholders 211,885,227.63 XEM
Community Fund 306,056,439.91 XEM
Mobile Application and NCC Development 329,599,242.98 XEM
NEM Sustainable Ecosystem Loop Fund (NEMSELF) 871,083,713.59 XEM
Unconventional Marketing 211,885,227.63 XEM
Operational Costs Fund II 211,885,227.63 XEM

Since the development for the mobile app was already ongoing, we had to use some funds from the "Mobile Application and NCC Development" Fund before we split the Sustainability Fund into its sub funds. We are aware that the Development Contract says "This fund will not be operational, until late redeem/reclaim procedure is finished.", but we are sure that it is easy to understand we had to act like this to make sure the mobile app development doesn't come to a stop.

In total, an amount of 136,886,744.56 XEM was used from the "Mobile Application and NCC Development" Fund, so the calculated balance for this fund is: 192,712,498.28 XEM.

Since all Sustainability sub fund account addresses were announced publicly already, there have been some small anonymous donations. The following table shows the amount of the donations and the transactions fees that are substracted from each sub fund to transfer the respective amount from the Sustainability Fund to the sub fund account. The final balances displayed in the table are up-to-date (Oct 09 2015):

Fund Old Balance + Donation - Fee = Current Balance
NIS Node Rewards 211,885,227.63 XEM + 390 XEM - 179 XEM = 211,885,438.63 XEM
Silver Coins for Distribution to Stakeholders 211,885,227.63 XEM + 390 XEM - 179 XEM = 211,885,438.63 XEM
Community Fund 306,056,439.91 XEM + 390 XEM - 179 XEM = 306,056,650.91 XEM
Mobile Application and NCC Development 192,712,498.42 XEM + 390 XEM - 179 XEM = 192,712,709.42 XEM
NEM Sustainable Ecosystem Loop Fund (NEMSELF) 871,083,713.59 XEM + 454 XEM - 179 XEM = 871,083,988.59 XEM
Unconventional Marketing 211,885,227.63 XEM + 390 XEM - 179 XEM = 211,885,438.63 XEM
Operational Costs Fund II 211,885,227.63 XEM + 124 XEM - 179 XEM = 211,885,172.63 XEM
